Sing with us

The Anglistenchor is always happy to welcome motivated and choir-experienced singers of all voice types with a good musical understanding. Specifically, we’re looking for YOU!

What do we offer?
We offer professional rehearsals, great concerts, individual voice training, and of course, a lot of fun. We are a young choir with a lot of students. Naturally, students of English studies sing in the Anglistenchor and are always especially welcome, but many other fields of study such as Physics, Medicine, Mathematics, Psychology and more are represented in the choir as well.

How does it work?
The Anglistenchor rehearses every Thursday from 7 pm to 9:30 pm at the English Department, Kettengasse 12, Room 108, sometimes with short breaks between phases. Additionally, there’s usually one full-day rehearsal per phase. We also meet once a year for a more intensive rehearsal weekend. Music scores are mostly learned at home, so we can work efficiently on the music during rehearsals. We are not a project choir but are looking for singers who want to be part of the Anglistenchor for a longer term. However, it’s still possible to skip a phase due to scheduling conflicts, though it should remain the exception.

How can you join us?
You can find sound examples here on the site, and you can also follow the Anglistenchor on Instagram and Facebook. You can experience us live several times a year at various locations in and around Heidelberg. Just check the concerts and news section or the homepage for the next (and past) concerts. If you like what you see and hear, come and audition! Simply register by emailing mitsingen@anglistenchor.de with your voice type and a few sentences about your previous choir experience. We look forward to hearing from you!

Studying abroad in Heidelberg for a semester?
If you’re only in Heidelberg for a short time, have choir experience, and are interested in challenging and great music, feel free to apply for an audition anyway! Where else can you get to know people better than through singing together? We’re always happy to meet international students!
