Conductor

Alexander Albrecht, born in 1995, received organ and piano lessons from an early age, including from Wolf-Rüdiger Spieler, Johannes Quack, and Johannes Geffert. He completed his Bachelor’s in Church Music (organ with Carsten Wiebusch, conducting with Bernd Stegmann, singing with Ekkehard Abele) and his Master’s in Church Music (organ with Maria Mokhova, conducting with Michiya Azumi, singing with Ekkehard Abele) at the College of Church Music in Heidelberg. The baritone has already performed in numerous ensembles in the Rhein-Neckar region as a singer and conductor. From 2017 to 2023, he worked as the conductor of the Kirchenchorwa Ilvesheim and founded a children’s choir there in 2021, which he continues to lead. In addition, he has been teaching piano and organ privately for several years. He has completed musical further training and masterclasses with Wolfgang Schäfer (conducting), Gerd Türk (early music), Stefan Engels, and Daniel Roth (both organ). Since July 2022, he has been acting as the district cantor in Sinsheim, replacing Salome Hölzle. Since October 2022, he has been leading the Anglistenchor Heidelberg, with which he presents a demanding and varied concert program several times a semester, featuring choral works from the Renaissance to music by contemporary composers.
