Sun. 03/29/2026 at 5:00 p.m.
Augustinum, Heidelberg-Emmertsgrund
On behalf of the Verein zur Förderung der Universitären Palliativmedizin in Heidelberg e.V. (Association for the Promotion of University Palliative Medicine in Heidelberg), the Anglistenchor invites you to a benefit concert in support of palliative medicine at Heidelberg University Hospital. The concert will take place on March 29, 2026, at 5:00 p.m. in the Augustinum Heidelberg. The event will be musically arranged and performed by the Anglistenchor Heidelberg.
The proceeds from the concert will support the palliative care of seriously ill and dying patients in Heidelberg. The Department of Palliative Medicine at Heidelberg University Hospital cares for patients and their families not only in the hospital or the new palliative care ward at Bethanien Hospital, but also — above all — at home and in nursing facilities, including the Augustinum. Care is provided through round-the-clock availability of palliative physicians, nurses, and social workers. To support these wide-ranging and important tasks, a new association – the Verein zur Förderung der Universitären Palliativmedizin in Heidelberg e.V. – was founded in January 2026, which will receive the proceeds from this concert.
Musically, the Anglistenchor will present a jazzy-pop concert program in a smaller ensemble formation, developed during an intensive rehearsal period including a rehearsal weekend, under the direction of the versatile conductor Fabian Kühn-Brunnenkant. For the Anglistenchor, this project represents both a contrast to its otherwise rather classical repertoire and a stylistic broadening that opens up new impulses in sound, expression, and rhythm.
Thematically, the pieces revolve around joy of life and various situations from everyday life. At the same time, the program highlights the versatility and expressive potential of choirs, voices, and language.
Fabian Kühn-Brunnenkant is equally at home in classical, jazz, and pop music as a conductor, singer, and beatboxer. He brings with him extensive experience from professional ensembles and musical theatre. In addition, he works as a lecturer and university teacher, and regularly conducts coachings and workshops for a cappella groups and choirs.
Admission is free. All donations collected in the hall will go directly to the Verein zur Förderung der Universitären Palliativmedizin in Heidelberg e.V. – with heartfelt thanks to all donors!
